Redlands students escape lockdown for Snowy Mountains ski school

Advertisement Another group of independent school students has been allowed to leave Greater Sydney’s lockdown, with 64 students from Redlands in Cremorne departing for the school’s Snowy Mountains campus at the weekend. A spokesman for the co-ed school said the students’ departure for Winter School – a term 3 residential boarding program outside Jindabyne that Redlands has run for almost 30 years – had the “full support” of NSW Health. Students from an elite Sydney school went on a skiing trip to the Snowy Mountains despite thousands of other students forced to learn remotely. Redlands school in Cremorne, on Sydney s lower north shore, sent 64 Year 9 and 10 students on the trip last weekend despite the city s lockdown. The Anglican grammar school, with fees of $35,500 a year, runs a $17,000 annual program where study is combined with snow sports training during term three. Winter School provides the opportunity for students to develop their skills in skiing and snowboarding with an intensive high quality training program, the school s website describes the program, which has run since 1995.
