Blinken to discuss South China Sea, Myanmar in ASEAN meet

Washington [US], August 3 (ANI): US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during ministerial meetings of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this week will discuss a range of mutual issues concerning the South China Sea, Myanmar, and COVID-19 pandemic, State Department spokesperson Ned Price said on Monday (local time).
Blinken will participate in this week five virtual ministerial meetings related to ASEAN, or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, these are the US-ASEAN, East Asia Summit (EAS), ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), Mekong-US Partnership, and Friends of the Mekong ministerial meetings.

CAMEROON – The United Nations on Monday called the Myanmar military’s election delay and extension of the state of emergency a move in the wrong direction from international calls for the restoration of democracy.

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will participate in a series of foreign ministers meetings on East Asia cooperation via video link from Tuesday to Friday, according to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry.
Wang will take part in the China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting; the ASEAN-China, Japan, Republic of Korea Foreign Ministers Meeting; the East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers Meeting; and the ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers Meeting.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
