YANGON, Myanmar Junta authorities in Myanmar are seeking help from the international community to tackle the coronavirus, state media said Wednesday, as the impoverished country looks beyond ally China in its struggle to beat back a new wave.

Online expo boosts trade among RCEP members

BEIJING, July 28 (Xinhua) An online expo aimed at boosting trade between the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member nations opened its doors Wednesday. More than 2,000 enterprises have registered to participate in the 2021 RCEP Members International Trade Digital Expo, which is sponsored by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. About 20,000 professional buyers from RCEP member states are expected to visit the expo or negotiate online. The expo covers various industries, including intelligent manufacturing, new energy and services trade. It will end on Aug. 6. The RCEP, the world s largest free-trade deal, signed in November 2020, embraces the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as well as China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia and New Zealand.

Two sides respect each other, strive to resolve differences through dialogue
China, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, has developed a long-term perspective and shown an enduring sincerity to help keep its 30-year-old collaboration with the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations afloat and thriving, according to officials, scholars and leaders.
Many of the observers described the 10+1 partnership as dynamic and enriched, as China and ASEAN have engaged in a series of events to mark the 30th anniversary of their dialogue relations, which cover a total population of more than 2 billion.
