Curling Centre board cancels rest of season
The Cranbrook Curling Centre board of directors today announced it was canceling the season as COVID-19 restrictions continue.
“As you probably know Dr. Bonnie Henry extended the public health order restricting sport, including curling, until at least February 5. Since that announcement, the Board of Directors have deliberated on the effect this will have on the curling season. After considering the financial considerations, the short length of any remaining season, the effect the shutdown will have on the number of returning members, and the low probability of actually being able to reopen on the fifth, the board has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the season,” stated Club President Mark McDonald on Facebook.
