A Milton committee is debating what could be done regarding large truck traffic going through town. Research revealed that truckers typically use GPS to choose their route through town and usually end up at Dogfish Head Brewery. A Milton traffic committee is examining the impact of large truck traffic coming through town and what, if anything, can be done about it.
The Traffic Calming Ad Hoc Advisory Committee has been looking at various traffic-related issues in Milton, including large trucks. The committee sought to determine how and why large trucks are going through town, and where they are ending up.

Bayhealth and Nemours Children’s Health System formally opened the new Nemours Building at 101 Wellness Way, on the Bayhealth Sussex Campus, Milford.
The center expands pediatric care to families in Kent and Sussex counties. The new three-story, medical office building is located across the street from the hospital and outpatient center.
“As a nurse and a mom I know how important it is to have the best level of care accessible to our children when they need it. The collaboration between Nemours and Bayhealth will provide access to world class healthcare for our families,” said Delaware Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long, who attended and spoke at a recent ribbon cutting ceremony.
Francis Velez MD, FACS joins Bayhealth General Surgery practice
Bayhealth General Surgery, Sussex Campus is pleased to welcome board-certified general surgeon Francis Velez, MD, FACS. He joins David Cloney, MD; Francisco Rodriguez, MD; and Charles Frasso, DO, in the practice, which is part of the Bayhealth Medical Group, a partnership of highly trained physicians, their clinical staff, and an administrative support team that operates practices throughout central and southern Delaware. Dr. Velez is currently accepting new patients.

Milford police are investigating an early Wednesday shooting at an apartment complex involving multiple suspects, the department said.
Police said a 19-year-old man was shot at the Brightway Commons apartment complex off of Church Street at around 12:43 a.m. Wednesday. Multiple suspects fired multiple rounds at the victim striking the victim once, police said in a press release.
The man was transported to Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
