Phil Murphy to promote the Democratic governor’s agenda. The group, New Direction New Jersey, on Wednesday released a list of its donors for the last few months of 2019 and all of 2020. And just like last year, the New Jersey Education Association provided the group with easily the largest amount of its fundraising $6 million in contributions from the union’s super PAC, Garden State Forward.

Phil Murphy and Democratic lawmakers to fulfill voters wishes to legalize marijuana, they ve gotten hung up on details that could add yet another delay to what s been years of failures and setbacks to bring the drug to the marketplace.  Murphy said Monday that there were technical but important issues with a bill to decriminalize marijuana that the Legislature sent him earlier this month. That bill is separate from another one to regulate the sale of marijuana, but Murphy has been expected to sign them in tandem by Jan. 1.  Murphy s office wants to include penalties for possession of marijuana by people younger than 21 years old, according to three aides in the Legislature and the governor s office familiar with discussions. Politico New Jersey first reported the hang-up Monday.

Hudson County View State Senator Nick Sacco (D-32) explained why he won’t compromise on his amended official misconduct bill that remains in limbo, as well as why he feels the Palisade Cliffs Protection Act is responsible legislation. “Absolutely not, absolutely not: we’re gonna be fair to everybody,” Sacco said when asked if he’d consider compromising on the amendment he introduced during an interview at North Bergen Township Hall, where he serves as mayor, last week. Sacco’s official misconduct amendment was added to Bill S-2586 on August 24th, after state Senators Senators Sandra Cunningham (D-31) and Nellie Pou (D-35) introduced the initial bill on June 2nd.
