Presidential Adviser for Legislative Affairs Adelino Sitoy passed away Thursday at the age of 85. He served as vice mayor of Cordova, Cebu before joining the Duterte Cabinet in 2016.
The President announced the passing of Sitoy in the middle of a meeting with Cabinet members Thursday night and offered a moment for silent prayer.

Malacañang is mourning the loss of Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) Secretary Adelino Sitoy.
Presidential spokesman Harry Roque has offered the Palace’s condolences to the family of Sitoy, remembering his crucial work in advancing the administration’s priority measures in Congress.
“The Palace expresses its deep condolences to the family, loved ones and colleagues of Secretary Adelino Sitoy of the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO),” Roque said in a statement Thursday, April 15.
Roque recognized that Sitoy was instrumental in the passage of the key legislative reform measures of the Duterte administration. He also credited Sitoy for the Executive’s good working ties with legislature.
