The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) is collecting opinions for the draft report on the research and proposal for a new Law on Digital Technology Industry, which aims to create favorable conditions for the ICT and digital technology industries.
The draft suggests policy on subjects for management; policies to promote the development of the digital technology industry, including the infrastructure system, human resources; and policies on protection, capital, investment and incentives for the digital technology industry.

The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in developing digital government, digital economy and digital society.

The agreement lays the foundation for specific cooperation between the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Asian Development Bank to implement the national digital transformation program.
Under this agreement, ADB will provide technical support in four areas to the Ministry of Information and Communications during the 2021-2025 period.
Sharjah: As many as 210 hacked social media accounts were recovered by the Cybercrime section at the Criminal Investigation Department of Sharjah Police during 2020 and 125 accused were referred to Public Prosecution, Sharjah Police have disclosed. Police provided immediate assistance to a large number of victims of cybercrime, enabling them to recover their accounts from fraudsters.
Residents who have their social media accounts hacked can complain to Sharjah Police via the e-crime website or directly ask police for help to recover them, an official said.
Alerting social media users about the possibility of their accounts being hacked, Sharjah Police said the accounts were exploited by hackers for personal purposes (including defrauding a person’s personal data with the purpose of stealing or transferring funds to accounts belonging to the criminals, or to achieve other personal purposes). The Information Security Administration under the Ministry of Information & Communications has just updated the blacklist of IP addresses that distribute spam emails.

This is a list of IPs/ IP ranges marked as the source of spam e-mail distribution, which are listed periodically. Based on this list, organizations and individuals can prevent the spread of spam email.
As of October 1, 2020, a total of more than 1.15 million IP addresses have been blacklisted by the Department of Information Security for spam email distribution. In this latest update, more than 29,000 IP addresses were added to the blacklist.
