The Biden administration’s reaction to the recent surge on our southern border has left many Americans doubting the ability of the federal government to successfully solve the immigration stalemate. The administration apparently did not anticipate how public comments from the Biden camp during the 2020 presidential campaign would encourage migrants in poorer sections of Mexico and Central America, many of them children, to flock to our southern border. Surges like the current one place an incredible and unfair burden on state resources.

Biden’s DHS in February announced that those who had been removed to Mexico under Trump’s Migrant Protection Protocols policy could begin to enter the U.S. DHS started by opening three ports of entry and processing up to 300 people per day.
The encounter occurred on Twitter, where Ocasio-Cortez was explaining that she faced bipartisan opposition to improving conditions at the U.S-Mexico border. She called out “Ted Cruz types” who are taking trips to the border but had voted for policies that helped created the problem.
“And the fact is a LOT of Ted Cruz types who are now going down to meet refugee children in boats outfitted w/ machine guns are the ones who helped create this problem in the first place,” she said.

Republicans visiting the southern border this week blamed Biden for the recent border surge, saying his statements on immigration reform are encouraging people to flee other countries and seek asylum in America.
Biden s proposed immigration agenda would provide a legal path to citizenship for some 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the country.
Pelosi said she takes issue with statements made by Trump and others suggesting terrorists from Middle Eastern countries are infiltrating large groups of migrants along the southern border.
