Delhi recorded 13,287 fresh Covid-19 cases on Wednesday with a positivity rate of 17.03%, the third day in a row that the capital saw a positivity rate below 20%. The number of Covid-19 fatalities, however, remained high at 300. The 13,287 new Covid-19 cases were recorded from 78,035 tests, out of which 63,315 were RT-PCR tests and 14,720 rapid antigen tests. KARACHI: Israrullah (127) and Rehan Afridi (127) hit fine centuries to enable Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to reach 380-4 in their first innings against Northern on the opening day of their tenth and last round four-day fixture of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (first-class) here at National Stadium on Saturday.
Left-handed Israrullah scored 158 runs for the opening stand with Sahibzada Farhan, who chipped in with 62 off 87 balls, striking six fours and three sixes. Israr, who hit 17 fours and two sixes in his first century of the season, shared 67 runs for the second wicket with Rehan, who smacked 17 fours and three sixes in his 167-ball knock. Rehan then shared 146 for the third wicket with Kamran Ghulam, who was batting on 53 when the bails were drawn. Kamran had smashed four fours and one six from 132 deliveries.

KARACHI: Northern’s slim hopes of making the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final for the second year running suffered a huge blow on Saturday as ruthless leaders Khyber Pakhtunkhwa piled up 380-4 on day one of the last-round fixture here at the National Stadium.
In the other match that would decide who’ll earn the right to take on the already-qualified Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Jan 1-5 title-decider at the National Stadium, reigning champions Central Punjab rode an Usman Salahuddin’s century to reach 309-4 versus fellow contenders Southern Punjab at the SBP Sports Complex.
