UK storm forecast: Terrifying weather chart shows wild weather heading straight to Britain | Weather | News

Charts assessing wind speed by WXCharts show the UK turn purple at 3pm this afternoon, as the UK braces for stormy conditions. Weather maps by forecasters Magicseaweed, also show a terrifying weather system moving towards the UK around 6pm tonight. The chart, which represents the scale of the swell, shows a mass of red and pink approaching the west of the UK. The map suggests the huge swell could see waves reach a height of 40ft (12metres). The chart shows the potentially damaging conditions hit the UK at midnight tonight and will have fully dispersed by 3pm on Friday. The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for rain on Tuesday and Wednesday in Scotland. Ms Kirkwood said: As we go through this week it is going to remain mild with temperatures above average, really peaking around mid-week but it s not going to dry everywhere.

Southern England expects further snow alongside parts of the northeast and Scotland in the coming days, with Thursday and Friday to extend freezing conditions for many Brits. The warnings follow the continue chaos caused by travelling system Storm Darcy, which drifted in from the Netherlands earlier this week.
