GE Aviation in Hamble exterior AN APPEAL against a decision to refuse the creation of 148 new homes has been dismissed. A planning inspectorate has dismissed the planning appeal for the GE Aviation planning application that proposed 148 houses on the site on Hamble Lane.
Eastleigh Borough Council’s Bursledon Hamble & Hound Local Area Committee refused planning permission for the homes in December 2019. GE Aviation appealed the decision and a public inquiry was held in November 2020. The application outlines how 148 homes as well as vehicle access and associated infrastructure would be created on the site. Council Leader Keith House said, “The Planning Inspector’s decision to block GE Aviation’s planning application is a strong verdict of support for the Council’s Local Plan policies to restrain development on the Hamble peninsula and protect our green gaps.
