Bengaluru, June 2 : The anxiety among Class 10 and 12 students, parents and teachers in Karnataka continues as state Education Minister, S. Suresh Kumar on Wednesday said that the government would soon take a suitable decision on whether to hold Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) (Class 10) and second-year Pre-University (Class 12) examinations.
In a statement, the Minister said that discussions are underway with teachers, education experts and parents in this regard and an appropriate decision will be taken soon keeping in mind the health of the children and their future.
New Delhi [India], June 2 (ANI): Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday appealed to the Chief ministers of states to take "student-friendly" decisions regarding the State Board Class 12 examination.
Confusion over conducting examinations for Classes 10 (SSLC) and 12 (PUC II) has been prevailing in the state, ever since the several state boards and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced their decision to cancel the Class 10 board exams.
NEW DELHI - India s major school-leaving examinations were called off on Tuesday (June 1), bringing relief to students and parents who were concerned that the tests might go ahead despite the Covid-19 pandemic putting children s lives at risk.
This was announced after a key government meeting on Tuesday chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who tweeted to describe the decision as one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth .
The grade 12 exams, held usually in February and March, were delayed this year and slated to begin in May.
But the calamitous second wave of the pandemic caused the exams to be pushed back further with a proposal to hold them between July 15 and Aug 26. Results, normally declared in May, were expected to be announced in September instead.
