Major pavilion upgrade unveiled at Orange Show

Date Time Major pavilion upgrade unveiled at Orange Show Thousands of visitors to Orange Showground will benefit from a new canteen and amenities following the completion of a $511,087 upgrade to the Naylor Pavilion funded by the NSW Government. Upper House MP Sam Farraway joined Orange Mayor Cr Reg Kidd and Orange Show Society members to officially open the new facilities at the Orange Show. “Orange Showground has served as a community hub since 1908 and these upgrades to the Naylor Pavilion will help keep it safe and functional for future generations,” Mr Farraway said. “Not only does the new toilet and showers amenities reduce costs for the show society as they will no longer have to fund portable toilets to service the pavilion, but along with upgrades to the canteen and kitchen they provide the ultimate venue for any event, bringing new opportunities to the Orange region.”

Lion s Club search for a home to store the sausage-mobile

Lennox Head Lions Club (LHLC) recently purchased a state-of-the-art self-contained BBQ trailer, and a towing vehicle. The equipment was financed via a NSW Government grant, and has been operational since October 2020, a club spokesperson said. “This equipment has already been put to good use including our annual Australia Day BBQ at Lennox Head and some extremely busy days at Reflections Caravan Park during the busy holiday season. This new equipment is easily managed by our members and greatly assists in further fundraising to assist the community,” the group said in a statement.

Stand by your main-tenance, servicing chopper now easier

The Lismore base has received two custom-built stands to help its engineers do daily maintenance and pre-flight safety checks of the familiar yellow and red Augusta Westland AW 139 chopper. Lismore MP Janelle Saffin visited the service s South Lismore headquarters this week to see how senior base engineer Darryl Stevens and his team of three engineers were putting the work stands to good use. Ms Saffin said these stands - one for the helicopter tail platform and another crossover stand for the cockpit area - were funded by a $10,249 small grant under the NSW Government s Community Building Partnership Program 2020, one which she was very pleased to be able to help deliver.
