GREENWOOD, Ind. – Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers announced Thursday that the city has received funding from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) to make several infrastructure improvements in 2021.
Through INDOT’s Community Crossings Matching Grant Program, the city will receive $1 million to complete full-depth reconstruction projects in the Meridian Meadows and Kensington Park neighborhoods. Greenwood will contribute $1.2 million for a total estimated cost of $2.2 million for all of the projects.
“From sewers and stormwater drains to roads, sidewalks, and waterways, infrastructure is the most important local issue that often gets the least appropriate amount of attention,” said Myers. “We’ve worked hard to prioritize all facets of Greenwood’s infrastructure during the past decade because we understand the potential impact on our community’s future.”
