TERRE HAUTE, IND. (WTHI) More money is going toward fixing several city streets in Terre Haute. During Thursday s City Council meeting, council members voted to accept three different appropriations. They include over $1 million dollars total. This is money from both the state and city to help resurface and rebuild many streets in the area.
The work will be done through several major projects. They include paving and resurfacing projects for a number of Terre Haute streets. Here is how it all breaks down.

Funding for roadwork by Delaware County officials will remain at the same level as recent years.
The Delaware County Council in 2020 faced a budget crunch due to COVID-19 revenue losses, forcing it to cut nearly $8 million out of the general fund to meet expected losses from the Department of Local Government Finance.
There have been concerns over how much money the highway department will have for road maintenance after the DLGF sent out a memorandum during budgeting season about what to expect with various governmental funds into 2021.
Two funds, Local Road and Street funding and Motor Vehicle Highway, are expected to be 82% of what cities and counties can normally expect on any given year.
