Oswego County Health Department holds COVID-19 vaccine clinics July 28 and 29

OSWEGO COUNTY - The Oswego County Health Department will hold three COVID-19 vaccination clinics next week. The first two clinics will be held on Wednesday, July 28 at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic, 70 Bunner St., Oswego: - From 1-3 p.m., health staff will administer the Pfizer vaccine to those aged 12 and above. It is a two-dose series, so those who attend should plan to return on Wednesday, Aug. 18 for their second shot. - From 4-5:30 p.m., health staff will administer the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is a single dose shot, to those aged 18 and above. Kimmit chose not to be taken to hospital at the time. However, he later started experiencing pain, sought medical attention and was hospitalized. Weekly update: Oswego County virus cases up 17 over past week to 8,153

OSWEGO — Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang announced Monday, July 19, that 17 additional residents have tested positive for COVID-19 this past week. This brings the total cumulative number of positive cases since the county began monitoring for COVID-19 in March 2020 to 8,153. There are currently 19 active positive cases. “The data shows that the 7-day average of testing volume, percentage of those testing positive, and the new case counts are all rising,” said Huang. “The Oswego County Health Department continues to use case tracking, isolation, quarantine, and vaccination to control the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the community. Among all of these measures, vaccination is the most powerful tool. We encourage all eligible residents to get vaccinated.”
