CAIRO The Arab League praised on Monday the exceptional contributions made by women in the Arab region to confront coronavirus (COVID-19) especially health care workers. This came in a statement by the Assistant Secretary-General for Social Affairs, Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, on the occasion of International Women s Day, stressing keenness to share the international community in celebrating this day. She also praised the role of women in the security institutions for being in the frontlines to confront this pandemic, as well as workingwomen and breadwinners who assumed increased responsibilities of family care to protect the elderly, children and the sick.
