A judge has denied former Miracle on Ice hockey star Mark Pavelich’s bid to dismiss firearm charges and suppress evidence from his ongoing criminal case stemming from the alleged assault of his neighbor in August 2019.
Pavelich, 62, is charged with striking James T. Miller with a metal pole after they returned from a fishing trip together. He has been undergoing mental health treatment since his arrest.

A Wisconsin woman is facing a felony child endangerment charge after she left her 6-year-old girl on a northern Minnesota highway in the middle of December.
The incident happened Dec. 10 when two people contacted the Cook County Sheriff s Office just after 10 p.m. to report finding a 6-year-old near 7700 E. Hwy. 61 in Grand Portage.
The girl had been abandoned on the side of the road. She was barefoot and wearing tights, a jacket and no hat in near-freezing weather, the criminal complaint says.

GRAND PORTAGE, Minn. (FOX 9) – A 39-year-old mother has been charged after she told Cook County, Minnesota deputies she left her 6-year-old daughter shoeless on the side of the road because God told her to.
Jaydin Pankow, 39, of Waupaca, Wisconsin, was arrested the night of Dec. 10 after two good Samaritans found her daughter on the side of Hwy. 61 in Grand Portage.
Charges say the child was barefoot and not dressed for “near-freezing” weather. Pankow faces one felony count of child endangerment.
After her arrest, Pankow told deputies that, “God told her to leave the child on the highway in order to save her,” according to the charges.

A woman allegedly told deputies that God directed her to abandon her barefoot 6-year-old daughter along Minnesota Highway 61 near Grand Portage last week.
Jaydin Danielle Pankow, 39, of Waupaca, Wisconsin, appeared Monday in State District Court on a felony count of neglect or endangerment of a child.
Pankow was arrested after two good Samaritans found the child on the side of the highway around 10 p.m. Thursday. A criminal complaint states that the girl was wearing tights and a jacket, but lacked any footwear or other cold-weather clothing in the near-freezing temperature.
