Tenants, landlords can seek help from Cook County sheriff s office

Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart reminds housing providers and tenants grappling with eviction that they can use the office s Community Resource Center for assistance in accessing services and financial help.
Launched late last year, the CRC helps individuals navigate social services, housing, employment, medical and mental health services, among others. The CRC also can help individuals locate existing government rental assistance.
The CRC can be reached at via phone at (773) 405-5116, via email at ccso.resourcecenter@ccsheriff.org or online at cookcountysheriff.org/crc/home.
Property owners to confirm there is no forthcoming government assistance before an eviction will be enforced.
Police searching for missing, endangered Schaumburg Township woman Stacia Landon

Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart is asking for the public s help in locating a missing and endangered woman from unincorporated Schaumburg Township.
Stacia Landon, 32, was last seen in the 1400 block of South Plum Grove Road about 6 p.m. July 18.
Landon is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, about 115 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white tank top, shorts and possibly sandals.
Landon drives a black 2011 Honda Civic with Illinois license plate BY93180.
Anyone with information about Landon s whereabouts is asked to call 911, sheriff s police detectives at (708) 865-4896 or the sheriff s police nonemergency number at (847) 635-1188.
Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Ford Heights Shooting
Cook County, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Jason Peden, 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after an investigation found he shot another man in the face, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced.
At approximately 3:10 a.m. on June 20, Sheriff’s Police responded to the 1400 block of Diplomat Lane in Ford Heights where they found a 49-year-old Ford Heights man bleeding from his mouth. The victim identified Jason Peden, who was initially on scene, as the shooter.
The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he remains hospitalized.

Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart is asking for the public s help in locating a teen from unincorporated Maine Township since April 6.
Kianna Smith, 19, was last seen leaving her residence, the Harbour House Group Home, at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6 and did not return home for curfew later that night.
She is described as 5 7 , approximately 150 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, medium complexion, and a tattoo on her left forearm. She was last seen wearing an unknown color T-shirt, leggings, and sandals.

UPDATE: The teen has been located and is safe, according to a press release on Feb. 17 from Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart.

Kianna Smith, 19, was last seen leaving her residence, the Harbour House Group Home in Unincorporated Maine Township, at around 5:15 p.m. Friday. She did not return for curfew later that night.
Smith is described as 5-foot-7, weighing around 150 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, medium complexion and a tattoo on her left forearm.
