CALIFORNIA Thousands of public California high schools have been ranked by U.S. News and World Report in the publication s latest analysis of upper school education in the United States, revealing the top schools across the state and beyond.
This year s Best High Schools list ranks more than 24,000 public high schools throughout the country.
Here s where the top 100 California schools ranked among others in the U.S.

LEMONT, IL Lemont High School has been named one of the best high schools in Illinois, according to a new ranking by U.S. News and World Report.
This year s list ranks more than 17,800 public high schools throughout the country. Among those schools, Lemont High School ranked No. 51 in Illinois. The school said this ranking puts it in the top 7 percent of public high schools in the state.
In Illinois, the top five schools are all Chicago Public Schools selective enrollment high schools. Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire is ranked sixth in the state and Lake Forest High School is ranked seventh.

While lots of parents worry whether their kids will get into a good college, going to a good high school will likely do a lot to get them there. Well, now parents can know whether or not the high school their kids are going to makes the grade.
“U.S. News & World Report” just released their 2021 Best High School rankings.
They evaluated 17,800 schools based on six criteria, with certain factors weighing more heavily than others. Those criteria include:
College readiness
Graduation rates
Topping this year’s list is Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Virginia.
The school ranks number one for college readiness, and math and reading performance and proficiency. The school also has a 100% graduation rate.

SKOKIE, IL Niles Township High School District 219 schools have both been named among the best high schools in Illinois, according to a new ranking by U.S. News and World Report.
This year s list ranks more than 17,800 public high schools throughout the country.
Among those schools, Niles West High School was ranked No. 66 in Illinois and No. 1,539 nationwide.

DEERFIELD, IL Deerfield High School has been named among the best high schools in Illinois, according to a new ranking by U.S. News and World Report.
This year s list ranks more than 17,800 public high schools throughout the country.
Among those schools, Deerfield High School was ranked No. 12 in Illinois and No. 295 nationwide. That marks an improvement compared to last year when DHS was ranked No. 14 in the state and 316 in the United States.
