Prosecutor: Johnstown deli owner saw Allyzibeth Lamont as disgruntled employee ‘ringleader,’ had her killed | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Share1 BALLSTON SPA – The owner of a Johnstown sub shop regarded Allyzibeth Lamont as a “ringleader” among disgruntled employees, arranged with a manager to beat her to death, and then made extensive efforts to cover up the crime, a prosecutor charged in opening statements Wednesday in Georgios Kakavelos’ trial for first-degree murder. “Defendant took great measures to hide his act, but what he didn’t expect was his confidante, his right-hand man, coming forward,” Assistant District Attorney Alan Poremba told the Saratoga County Court jury, “He showed (police) where all the evidence was hidden.”

Small conventions and conferences are big business in Saratoga Springs. The people who book them say it s time to welcome them back.  They re set up for a trade show at the Saratoga Springs City Center. There are different sizes of booths, varying distances apart. It s only for show. The City Center and Discover Saratoga partnered with a local events planning company to set up this space as a demonstration.

I qualify to get the COVID-19 vaccine based on my age, and I’ve been closely watching and sometimes writing about the much-criticized national and state vaccine rollout, with full knowledge that initial demand dwarfed supply. Other folks are older, less healthy or in occupations more essential to the public health than an aging newsman. I also spent enough years driving to Potsdam when my son was in college to know that’s WAY too far to drive for vaccination. Twice.
