KUCHING (Jan 27): The Movement Control Order (MCO) scheduled to end this Friday in Sibu has been extended to Feb 14, said Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas.
He said the decision was made following the high number of positive Covid-19 cases in Sarawak and the declining number of green areas.
Apart from that, he said the state government also decided to extend the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in other parts of Sarawak until Feb 14.
“As of today, only 11 of the 40 districts in Sarawak have a green status. This shows that the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak is not yet under control, he told a press conference here today.
