Air New Zealand’s boss says international air travel will quickly return once people feel safe to do so, if its domestic recovery is anything to go by. But one aviation analyst says New Zealand’s Covid-19 eradication strategy could put it at a competitive disadvantage to other destinations during the initial phases of a global recovery in air travel. Another analyst says the airline’s view is “very optimistic” and an international recovery will rely heavily on the decisions of health officials and how vaccines shape the pandemic.
