JNS.org– Amid the intense rocket barrages of recent days, the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem is pressing ahead with orders for 15 new portable bomb shelters nine to be delivered as soon as possible to vulnerable Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip and the other six to exposed villages along the northern border with Lebanon.
Thanks to gifts from concerned Christians worldwide, this will bring to 132 the total number of bomb shelters the ICEJ has donated since 2008. The majority of these shelters have gone to towns along the southern border with Gaza, with the remainder going to communities near the Lebanese border in the north.

Some of those most exposed to the Hamas-led barrages against the Jewish state are not Israeli.
For years, Kav LaOved – Worker’s Hotline, an organization that seeks to protect all who work in Israel and advocates for the full application of the country’s labor laws, has asked the government to take action to protect the many Thai migrant laborers who, lacking Hebrew or English language skills, often do not know what to do in dangerous situations.
Pastor Tim Thompson, who leads a 1000-member Evangelical church in southern California, is already planning a trip to Israel with members of his church in November 2021.
But he and other churchgoers are not convinced they’ll actually make the trip, even if Israel opens up to tourists by that time. They are awaiting word on whether or not they’ll have to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to visit the Holy Land, which has the highest vaccination rate in the world 10 million doses administered and more than half of the country fully vaccinated.
“The number one question we get is, ‘Do I have to have the vaccine?’” said Thompson in an interview this week. “If they have to get it, they’re backing out.”
