Doha: The headquarters of the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) located in the Gaza Strip was hit in shelling by Israeli forces today.
In a post on Twitter, QRCS shared pictures of the destruction and stated that the shelling resulted in two deaths and 10 wounded Palestinians.
Condemning the targeting of its office in Gaza, QRCS will continue to operate relief in accordance with the International Humanitarian Law and emphasizing that the targeting of Red Crescent teams and headquarters is a violation, as well as its continued humanitarian work and relief assistance to those affected in the Gaza, in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent.
Cyclone Tauktae 650 km away from Karachi, but poses no threat: PMD

In the morning, PMD had said the cyclone was 800 km south-southeast of Karachi.
In the latest alert, the PMD said it was 580 km south of Thatta.
Very hot and dry weather with gusty winds is likely to continue in Karachi.
Pakistan Meteorological Department said late Monday Cyclone Tauktae is 650km south-southeast of Karachi, but it still does not pose any threat to the country s coastline.

In the latest alert, the PMD said the cyclone was 580 km south of Thatta. Maximum sustained winds around the system centre are 180-200 Kmph gusting 220 Kmph.
Cyclone Tauktae is, according to reports, the biggest to hot western India in 30 years.
The cyclone which is visible from space, has been packing winds of 155-165km/h.

At least 12 people died over the weekend and on Monday in torrential rains and winds as Cyclone Tauktae, according to press reports the biggest to hit western India in 30 years, swept over the Arabian Sea with Gujarat state in its sights. The (Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm) Tauktae lies close to Gujarat coast. The landfall process started and will continue during next 02 hours, the Indian Meteorological Department tweeted.

AHMEDABAD - More than 200,000 people were evacuated from their homes in the Indian state of Gujarat and authorities shut ports and major airports as the most powerful cyclone in more than two decades made landfall in the state late on Monday.
Rain intensified and several incidents of power outages were reported in the state. Electricity pylons and trees were uprooted and buildings were damaged in coastal areas of Gujarat, state authorities said.

A powerful cyclone that emerged in the Arabian Sea has made landfall on India s western coast, hours after authorities evacuated hundreds of thousands of people and suspended Covid-19 vaccinations in one state.
Cyclone Tauktae, the most powerful storm to hit the region in more than two decades, came ashore in Gujarat state with heavy rain, a battering storm surge and sustained winds of up to 165km/h, the India Meteorological Department said.
