Strike increasingly likely at Marathon s Minnesota refinery

2 Min Read (Reuters) - Marathon Petroleum’s contract with the union at its St. Paul Park refinery in Minnesota expired at midnight on Thursday without resolution, increasing the possibility of strike action, a union official said. Nearly 200 refinery workers represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union voted in December to authorize a strike if they cannot reach an agreement on a new Marathon contract by the end of 2020. Fortified by whiskey and beer, they crept into Yablonski’s 200-year-old farmhouse in Clarksville. First they gunned down Yablonski’s daughter, Charlotte, as she slept with curlers in her hair. Then, they walked into Yablonski’s bedroom, and fired at his wife, Margaret. Finally, they pumped bullets into Yablonski’s torso and head as he was fumbling with his own gun. Five days passed before their bodies were found.

The total projected sellout of the planned condo projects in Brooklyn and Queens that made this year’s list was $384 million a far cry from last year’s total of just over $2 billion. In fact, the most expensive condo filing of the year a Long Island City project with a projected sellout of $79 million was just a smidge higher than the 10th-priciest project on our 2019 list. Like we said, 2020 has been weird.
