Share: The International Brotherhood of Teamsters might agree with the adage that bad things happen in threes. For the third time in recent weeks, the union has been decertified at a transportation-related company. The vote was for a small group of workers, just 20. The employer is Harbor Distributing LLC, which the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) report on the vote says does business as Allied Central Coast Distributing. It is located in Santa Maria, California. The vote was narrow, according to the NLRB data, with 10 votes in favor of ditching the union and seven votes in favor of keeping it. Three voters apparently did not cast a ballot given that there were 20 eligible voters.

The federal injunction handed down in early 2020 that blocked implementation of AB 5 in the state’s trucking sector, because of F4A, remains in place and supersedes any state court decisions.

7UP workers reach bargaining agreement, end 3-week strike A three-week strike at a 7UP facility in Redford Township has ended after a union representing workers there reached a bargaining agreement with the parent company, officials said. Delivery drivers, warehouse workers, mechanics and other staff had been picketing since March 11 and drew support from lawmakers. They were striking over the beverage company’s alleged refusal to bargain in good faith to address pay disparities between employees as well as other issues, organizers said. The most recent five-year deal expired in February.  On Thursday, workers in the International Brotherhood of Teamsters 7UP s parent company. The Teamsters represent about 80 employees from the Redford facility.
