IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - After the Fill the Boot campaign was canceled last year due to the pandemic, Idaho Falls Fire Department firefighters are asking for help with not only filling the boot but overflowing it.
Firefighters will be at the intersection of Hitt Road and 17
th Street on Friday and Saturday, June 11 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. raising funds for kids, adults and families fighting muscular diseases.
All donations go to the MDA for research, caring for individuals, and empowering families with much needed services.
The Emergency Response (ER) Division at Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas) has received its reaccreditation from the US-based Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) of the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE).

The Boston firefighters union on Monday endorsed Councilor Annissa Essaibi Georgeâs campaign for mayor. The union s nod comes two weeks after retired Police Commissioner William Gross endorsed her, suggesting Essaibi George s emerging status as the choice of Boston s public safety workers.
âCouncilor George has a long track record of standing with Boston firefighters and their families,â said John Soares, International Association of Firefighters Local 718 president, announcing the unionâs support. âThat is why we re standing with her today, tomorrow and in November when she becomes mayor of this city.â
City to build peer support unit for Detroit Fire Department

Detroit The Detroit Fire Department is looking to professionalize its peer support efforts, and Mayor Mike Duggan s office will seek a budget hike to that effect this fall.
The need for enhanced peer support services came from an environmental assessment for the fire department released Friday. There needs to be a sustained, standalone peer support unit, Fire Commissioner Eric Jones told The Detroit News on Friday.
Duggan ordered the audit after two incidents involving Detroit Fire Department personnel drinking alcohol on the job and driving work vehicles. A battalion chief drove a Ford Explorer, while a firefighter drove a fire rig.
MORGANTOWN – The City of Morgantown and members of its fire department have agreed to a proportional increase in base pay that will result in no change of pay.
Last week, the city and 47 members of International Association of Firefighters Local 313 announced they had mutually resolved the firefighters claim that they were entitled to shift differential pay under the city s personnel rules, pending approval by City Council. The City of Morgantown recently has undertaken efforts to clarify and enforce existing personnel policies for all employees, to follow-through on completing a citywide employee compensation study, and to reorganize city operations to achieve greater effectiveness in delivering services to its constituents and taxpayers, a joint statement issued May 13 states.
