This year s edition of IFFI is being organised in a hybrid format, in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has forced the organisers to limit attendance, both at the opening and closing events, as well as during the screening of the 224 films from nearly sixty countries, which are scheduled to be screened at the event. The festival has been curtailed to a duration of eight days this year.

Panaji (Goa) [India], January 15 (ANI): The 51st edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is set to start in Goa tomorrow, with the opening ceremony at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium at Panaji in Goa.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in a statement that for the first time, IFFI is being held in a hybrid mode because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, festival delegates will have the option to participate and watch films and other events virtually, sitting in the comforts of their homes. Asia s oldest and India s biggest festival will be loaded with a line-up of a total of 224 films from across the globe this year. Italian cinematographer Vittorio Storaro is being honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, at the opening ceremony, the ministry said.

Panaji, Jan 15 : Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, in Goa to participate in the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), said the latest edition of the festival, beginning in the state capital from Saturday, is special. “As many as 224 films from 60 countries will feature in the festival. The event is really important from the of art and culture perspective. For the first time, owing to Covid-19, this year’s edition is being organised in a hybrid format. So, people will also be able to watch it online,” he explained.

Panaji: The 51st edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is set to start in Goa on Saturday. Bangladesh will be the country in focus and the festival will pay tribute to legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray.
