Updated: 8:19 AM MST Dec 29, 2020 Marissa Armas After a lot of uncertainty, President Donald Trump finally signed off on a major coronavirus stimulus package late Sunday. The $900 billion package is going to provide some relief, but not just for individuals. It ll also help small businesses, schools and even nursing homes. The president waited until the 11th hour to sign the COVID stimulus bill, said Brian Sanderoff, KOAT s political expert. This stimulus package will include so many things for families and small businesses, so it’s really great news for New Mexico that it passed. Last week, Congress agreed on the package, and they’ve since been waiting for the president’s approval. This new package includes a $600 stimulus check for eligible individuals. It also expands unemployment benefits and provides small business relief. The small businesses that have been ravished by the pandemic could apply again for the PPE forgivable loan, Sanderoff said.
