Teachers should be vaccinated against Covid once the most vulnerable have received their doses, shadow Cabinet Office minister Rachel Reeves has said.
She added that Labour wanted the Joint Committee on Vaccinations and Immunisation (JCVI) to look at the evidence on prioritising key workers.
Labour has argued vaccinating teachers could help reopen schools.
But International Trade Secretary Liz Truss said the most important thing is protecting lives .
Speaking to Sky News, Ms Truss said: For every person you vaccinate who isn t in the most vulnerable group, that is somebody in the most vulnerable group who isn t getting their vaccine and who is more likely to die in the next few weeks and months.

Britain Set to Apply to Join Asia-Pacific Free Trade Pact
The UK will make a formal request to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the government has said.
Britain’s International Trade Secretary Liz Truss will speak to ministers in Japan and New Zealand on Monday morning to request to join the free trade pact, with formal negotiations set to start this year, the government said in a statement on Saturday.
Tomorrow the UK will take the first formal step toward joining the #CPTPP group.
