U.S. Customs and Border Protection Seize Counterfeit Heaters
The flow of counterfeit products keeps coming through the border daily and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection is doing their best to try and stop it.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations officers at the International Falls Port of Entry had their eye on a railcar container on its way to Ranier, Minnesota, upon inspecting the container last Friday officers discovered a load of counterfeit infrared zone heaters.
In total, U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized 780 heaters, if the goods had been real the estimated manufacturer’s suggested retail price would have been just over $260,000.

Border patrol agents in International Falls, Minn., seized a shipment of counterfeit heaters that could have commanded more than $260,000 had they made it to market.
Agents on Friday found 780 of the fake infrared zone heaters inside a rail car bound for the nearby northern Minnesota town of Ranier, according to a statement from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
The heaters, which originated in China, violated intellectual property rights regulations, officials said.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents in International Falls on Friday seized more than 700 counterfeit heaters from a rail container bound for Ranier.
According to the CBP, officers at the International Falls Port of Entry targeted the rail container and discovered infrared zone heaters that were in violation of intellectual property rights regulations.
The 780 heaters had an estimated retail price of $261,060 if they had been real.
“CBP is focused on identifying and intercepting counterfeit merchandise and products. The enforcement of trade laws at U.S. ports of entry remains a high priority for us,” International Falls Port Director Anthony Jackson said in a statement. “Counterfeiting adversely affects the ability of lawful copyright holders to profit from their original ideas. Counterfeit
