Daytona Beach, FL - A Palm Coast man is facing multiple aggravated assault charges after police and witnesses say he brandished a sword and threatened everyone inside the store. According to a police report obtained by News Daytona Beach, 29-year-old Marcus Smith entered a Sunoco convenience store on International Speedway Boulevard (ISB) Monday night (May 3) and reportedly made comments about how he should steal from the store. Afterwards, Smith took the soda and went to pay for it, but the comments continued. Police say Smith continued to make remarks at the victims before pulling a sword out of his backpack, which he began to threaten customers and employees with. After brandishing the sword, Smith took off out of the store and ran westbound onto ISB. Bunnell, FL – When a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) deputy initiated a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle yesterday (May 3) they observed multiple baggies being thrown out of the passenger window before the car came to a stop. While getting information from the driver and passenger, later identified as 30-year-old Serone Bell, the deputy saw Bell point a rifle at the driver and force him out of the vehicle. Bell climbed into the driver’s seat and the chase was on. FCSO deputies and Bunnell police officers pursued him and observed the vehicle tailgating, driving erratically, and weaving in and out of traffic resulting in a crash with a parked car. Sheriff Rick Staly and Chief of Staff Mark Strobridge spotted Bell traveling South on US1 and attempted to deploy StopSticks at Belle Terre and US 1 but the deployment could not be safely done. Heavy rain and lightning greeted the faithful early Sunday, and threatened the traditional end to Jeep Beach, the Jeep Beach Sweep Parade down Volusia County’s beaches.
But even the inclement weather couldn t stop hundreds of Jeep enthusiasts and their vehicles from rolling onto the sands from the International Speedway Boulevard approach in Daytona Beach to the Dunlawton Avenue approach in Daytona Beach Shores to the International Speedway Boulevar.
At least 3,000 Jeep vehicles were on the beach braving the rain, said Charlene Greer, founder of the Jeep Beach event.
The event brought 200,000 Jeep event fans to Daytona Beach. More than 20,000 Jeep vehicles participated in the week long event, Greer said.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A man accused of shooting and killing a family member during an argument last November turned himself into authorities Thursday, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.
Police said 39-year-old James Renard Williams Jr. turned himself in at the Volusia County Jail, several months after the incident.

Police said in November a man was shot and killed during a family argument in a home on North Caroline Street, just a half-mile north of International Speedway Boulevard and a mile west of Ridgewood Avenue. Officers at the time confirmed Williams was a relative of the man and issued a warrant for his arrest after he fled the scene.
