A HAMPSHIRE woman charged with perverting the course of justice is accused of making up “fictitious reports” to police, a court heard. Carly Buckingham-Smith claimed she felt she was being threatened and broken down due to being harassed. The 37-year-old of Copper Close in Eastleigh made police reports of “two men banging on her door and running off’ during the night. On another occasion she reported she “was woken up by the doorbell ringing” but when she looked out the window could not see anyone there. She has been charged with three counts of perverting the course of justice - which she denies.
1/1 A VIOLENT thug with a history of offending has been jailed for punching his partner repeatedly. Jay Moody punched his victim having moments before dragged her into a flat in the Lordshill area of Southampton. The woman described the attack saying they were “proper punches” like Moody had been “punching a man”. When police arrived, they saw blood on her face, a court heard. During a proceeding on Friday, Mr Recorder Neil Millard deliberated over the facts of the case. He said: “This was a nasty and sustained attack.” Recorder Millard said how Moody, 21, has 15 convictions to 31 offences - 10 for violence.

Neil Junior Cleal, aged 25, of Victoria Road, Southampton, A MAN who repeatedly punched and spat at a transgender woman outside her own home has been jailed. Neil Junior Cleal pleaded guilty to ABH, criminal damage and assaulting an emergency worker at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on March 26. The court heard that at around 9pm on July 21 last year, the 25-year-old approached a woman in her 50’s in Ludlow Road while shouting abuse at her, specifically about her gender identity. Cleal then proceeded to kick down her front gate and walk up to the woman, and spit in her face before punching her several times to the head causing her to fall backwards.
