Woman caught drink driving in Audi must pay thousands in costs and fines

Lorna Guess was stopped driving a white Audi A5 on Lyndhurst High Street. A breathalyser test found that she had 96mgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath - the legal limit is just 35mgs. The 41-year-old of Vincent Close, New Milton was charged with a single count of drink driving which she denied. She was found guilty of the offence which happened on October 31 last year at Southampton Magistrates’ Court and fined £2,736.

Southampton man who stole car caught with bent screwdriver

The 19-year-old was charged with having the tool for use in the course of or in connection with theft. He was also charged with taking a Mazda Zugara without the owner s consent and damaging a Vauxhall Vivaro in Southampton. Macey, of Tunstall Road in the Thornhill ward of the city, was then charged with assaulting a police officer. He pleaded guilty to the offences which happened on June 25 last year. At Southampton Magistrates Court, he was disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay a total of £685 in costs and compensation.

Shoplifter locked up for string of offences

The 31-year-old of Howards Mead in Pennington stole steaks, salmon, wine, dishwasher tablets and tuna. She targeted stores including Tesco, the Co-op and One Stop. Appearing before Southampton Magistrates Court she was charged with four counts of theft to which she pleaded guilty. She was jailed for 35 days. According to court documents, her offending was so serious because she has previous convictions for similar matters. Peters must pay £153 in compensation. Comments are closed on this article.

Southampton City Council probe Spartans Gym

A PROBE into a gym that opened during lockdown is ongoing. Legal action against Spartans Gym, which opened during lockdown, has been dropped, but the business in Millbank Street could still be prosecuted, according to the city council. Confusion surrounded who owns and manages the gym in the Northam ward of Southampton. But documents uploaded to the Companies House website list Dean Little as the Company Director of Spartans Gym Southampton Limited. A file received by the Government agency, states that he was appointed as a director on July 1 last year. Josh Gosling, who previously described himself as a “passionate gym member” had been accused of opening the venue during lockdown.
