Saqib promoted as Lt General National April 5, 2021 RAWALPINDI: Major General Saqib Mehmood Malik has been promoted as Lt. General and appointed new Chief of Logistics Staff, Pakistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday. The newly promoted three-star General, who hails from Punjab Regiment, has been posted as Chief of Logistics Staff following retirement of his predecessor Lt. General Azhar Saleh Abbasi on completion of his service in Pakistan Army.

Northlines RANA BANERJI Lieutenant General Azhar Saleh Abbasi, chief of logistics staff at the Pakistan army’s General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, retired on April 1. An officer belonging to the armoured corps, General Abbasi was commissioned in the 74th Pakistan military academy long course in September 1986. He served as General Officer Commanding, 9 Division, Kohat when it was re-located to Wana, South Waziristan during anti-militancy operations  Zarb e Azb and  Radd ul Fasad. He also did a long stint as vice chief of general staff (A) at GHQ before being promoted as lieutenant general and proceeding to command the Pakistan army’s strike corps, I Corps, Mangla (April 2017- October 2018).

Maj Gen Saqib promoted to rank of lieutenant general

Daily Times April 5, 2021 Major General Saqib Mehmood Malik has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Sunday. According to the ISPR, Lt Gen Malik has been appointed as the Chief of Logistics Staff, Pakistan Army. Earlier on November 5, six major generals of the Pakistan Army were promoted to the rank of lieutenant general, a statement issued by the ISPR Director General Major General Babar Iftikhar had said. According to the spokesperson for the military’s media wing, the approval for promotions was given in a promotion board meeting held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, presided over by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
