Slain Sacramento County deputy identified as father, military veteran © Sacramento County Sheriff s Office Adam Gibson The Sacramento County sheriff s deputy who was killed in a late-night shootout with a chase suspect on Cal Expo grounds has been identified as a husband and father who has been hailed in the past for his heroism. Deputy Adam Gibson, 31, was a six-year veteran of the sheriff s office. He leaves behind a wife, Rachel Gibson, a 9-month old child, his parents and several siblings, according to a release from the Sacramento County Sheriff s Office. As he was driving on the highway, he saw a man hanging from the pedestrian bridge over the northbound lanes of the highway.
