What a Utah high school prom looked like in the middle of the pandemic
One student says, “This is the most normal we’ve felt all year.”

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Cyprus students dance at the Cyprus High school Prom, at the Viridian Event Center, on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
Samantha Larsen started with picking out her dress, a light pink chiffon gown she could twirl in until the prom ended or she got dizzy, whichever came first.
Next, she got her nails painted the same shade of pink, like cotton candy, and bought a corsage with just the right shade of pink roses. She also found a shawl, some shiny shoes and a clip to pull back her wavy hair.
Boyett: Arson swept like wildfire across the region in 1995-96
Frank Boyett
Fires start small. So, it seems appropriate that The Gleaner’s long-running coverage of a 16-month epidemic of arson began with three lines in the Fire Runs column of Sept. 7, 1995.
Before it came to a sooty end on Christmas Day 1996, arson had claimed about 35 structures in the Tri-County area, including three churches, several vacant houses and mobile homes, and a workshop. Most of the burned buildings were barns; most of the local cases occurred in the Niagara and Zion areas.
But it wasn’t just the Tri-County area that was affected. An Associated Press article written by Ted Bridis that appeared in The Gleaner July 24, 1996, reported that by that point suspicious fires had burned more than 70 predominantly Black churches in the South since 1995. About an equal number of white churches had been torched during the same period.
Ford, Hot Ones Make Mustang Mach-E Hot Sauce (Kind Of)

Here’s a general rule to follow if you’re a brand out there doing brand stuff: Try not to tease folks with cool stuff that you don’t actually plan to deliver. Take for example Ford and Hot Ones whipping up a Mustang Mach-E 1400 hot sauce that they’re not going to put up for grabs. Because, uh, yes, I think folks would very much buy a Mustang-themed hot sauce.
Watch: Mustang Mach-E 1400 X Hot Ones
According to Ford’s description, the sauce which may or may not have just been another sauce rebottled to look all fancy-like boasts “notes of smoke, charred earth, and plenty of the insanely hot peppers.” Given the presence of burnt rubber flavor, maybe it’s actually for the best that they don’t try to bottle this up for real.
