MORRISTOWN, NJ Morristown High School is the 117th best in New Jersey, according to U.S. News & World Report. The publication s high school rankings features more than 17,800 public high schools throughout the country.
Morristown High School also ranks 2,851st nationally, according to U.S. News.
The purpose of the rankings is to provide insight into academic performance among underserved groups, showing how well schools are supporting these students, Anita Narayan, managing editor of education at U.S. News, said in a news release.
Chatham Named One Of NJ's Top 25 High Schools: U.S. News - Chatham, NJ - The annual ranking released by U.S. News and World Report ranks schools based on factors such as graduation rates and academic performance.
Grants, which range from $500 to $1,000, benefit classrooms, teachers and students.
A branded wholesaler for ExxonMobil, Davenport Energy secured 58 education grants on behalf of its Exxon and Mobil gasoline stations and convenience stores.
Pittsylvania County schools receiving grants include Chatham High School, Gretna High School, Dan River High School, Tunstall High School and Dan River Middle School.
George Washington High School, Sacred Heart School and Westover Christian Academy in Danville also received ExxonMobil education grants.
The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program is designed to provide Exxon and Mobil retailers with an opportunity to invest in the future of communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools.Â

New Jersey has 39 public high schools that rank among the top 10% in the country, according to the latest ratings by U.S. News & World Report.
On Tuesday, the news organization released its annual Best High Schools List, a ranking based on how well schools serve students from various social and economic backgrounds.
