Driver Benno Vincent Roehl, 88, and passenger Marlys Ann Roehl, 82, both of Darwin, received non-life threatening injuries in the crash and were transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital, according to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol. Both people were wearing seat belts.

Meeker County Sheriff warns public about brazen scam A scam in which people are being asked for money to keep alleged family members out of legal trouble following an accident has been reported in Meeker County and the city of Litchfield. Law enforcement is warning people of the scam. 5:25 pm, Jan. 8, 2021 × LITCHFIELD Law enforcement in Meeker County is warning people of a dangerous scam that has been reported in the area and has caused one victim to lose $12,000. According to a news release from Meeker County Sheriff Brian Cruze, senior citizens are receiving a call from an unknown individual, who in one case has posed as a Litchfield attorney, telling the victim a family member has been involved in an accident. The caller then tells the victim the fake family member is in need of money to stay out of legal trouble.

Sheriff: Intoxicated man in skid-steer goes after utility workers near Dassel The utility workers were on the site of a cell phone tower. Author: A man is in custody after allegedly using a skid-steer in a confrontation with utility workers in Meeker County.  The encounter between the man and utility workers happened around 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Meeker County Sheriff s Office, which reports that a 67-year-old Dassel man threatened workers at a cell tower site located on the 71200 block of 240th St. in Dassel Township.  The man is accused of using a Bobcat skid-steer to try and flip over equipment the utility workers were using, then threatening to overturn their work trucks.

Created: January 06, 2021 08:40 AM A Dassel, Minnesota, man has been arrested after he attempted to overturn utility workers equipment and vehicles with a Bobcat.  According to the Meeker County Sheriff s Office, authorities received a report at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday about a man threatening utility workers from a Bobcat at a cell tower site on the 71200 block of 240th Street in Dassel Township.  The caller said the man attempted to overturn the workers equipment and vehicles.  When deputies arrived, they found the man returning home.  Authorities were able to identify the person as 67-year-old John Forsen. Forsen was arrested for probable cause second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and driving under the influence.
