Nevin, 55, was out on bail for 50 felony charges but had a slew of arrest warrants to his name, including felony threats to civilians, domestic violence, witness intimidation and threats to kill law enforcement. And Santa Cruz County Sheriff s Office had a search warrant for his home in the area. Inside, they found more than 40 weapons, large-capacity magazines which are illegal to purchase in the state of California and tactical vests for Nevada s Washoe County Sheriff s Office.

The identity of the 29 year-old man, who died in a multi-vehicle fatal crash on Mission Street in Santa Cruz last week, has been released. Capitola resident Omar Enriquez, who volunteered with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff s Office from 2015-2019, and graduated from Cabrillo College with a degree in Criminal Justice, suffered fatal injuries after his motorcycle hit another vehicle last Thursday afternoon.
