The San Antonio Botanical Garden’s Foodie Cinema series returns this Friday, April 16 with a special screening of the 2006 cult classic film Nacho Libre. Yes, you will be able to see Ignacio, the lucha libre-fighting monk on the big screen if you so wish. And we imagine that quoting along with the film is also encouraged.

Traditionally in April, San Antonio is flashing their flower crowns and colorful outfits during the annual 11-day extravaganza known as Fiesta.
In 2020, the celebration was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic and then postponed to June 17-27 in 2021, leaving many locals feeling blue and missing all things Fiesta. Luckily, the Witte Museum has us covered with its Te Amo Fiesta exhibit.
From the parades to the glam gowns, Fiesta lovers can explore the new exhibit starting April 15, according to a news release. The museum, located at 3801 Broadway, examines the crown process and how to become part of the Fiesta royalty.

After being hidden for a decade, a priceless mural has been rediscovered in the heart of the city.
On Thursday, April 8, officials at the Mexican Cultural Institute (MCI) proudly unveiled Telón de la paz, a mural by Manuel Felguérez, a Mexican artist who died from COVID-19 last year. The abstract artist’s striking creation took up an entire wall, much to the amazement of representatives from the MCI, Consulate General of Mexico in San Antonio, the City’s Department of Arts & Culture, and the San Antonio-Mexico Friendship Council as well as interested art fans.
