Event:50 Cent, the rapper who topped the charts in the ’00s with “In Da Club” and “Candy Shop” is the big draw for “Night in New San Antonio,” a celebration that also features Houston rapper Chamillionaire, live DJs and Fiesta-style food booths.

SAN ANTONIO – An emblematic sight of Mexico’s art, culture and heritage debuted Saturday morning at the San Antonio Botanical Garden.
The new exhibit, “Frida Kahlo Oasis” features replicas of the Mexican artist’s iconic blue home or Casa Azúl to give visitors insight on the inspiration behind her famous portraits.

A San Antonio Botanical Garden exhibition celebrating one of Mexico s most beloved artists makes its debut this weekend. Frida Kahlo Oasis features a 2,100 square foot garden inspired by the garden at Casa Azul, the home artist Frida Kahlo shared with her husband Diego Rivera in Mexico City. The garden is filled with lush vegetation native to Mexico, as well as landmarks of Kahlo s Caza Azul garden, including a pyramid that was used to display Rivera s collection of Colombian artifacts, a frog-themed fountain and Kahlo s desk and easel.

It looks like San Antonio gets to boast about another TV star chef.
Emily Hersh, a plant-based culinary star hailing from the Alamo City, will step into the spotlight as a contestant on season 20 of the notorious Hell s Kitchen as it debuts on May 31.
Hersh, herself a vegetarian, will join 17 other contestants age 23 and under in the season branded as Young Guns. The show highlights talented young adults across the country who against the high pressures of the industry have already made their marks.
