SAN ANTONIO A record 4 million doses of coronavirus vaccines were given to Americans in one day this past weekend. But even while more people become vaccinated, the virus variants still remain a threat.
As time goes on the number of new cases across Texas continues to go down, even with the mask mandate lifted three weeks ago. Dr. Rita Espinoza, the Chief of Epidemiology with the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District told us that s a credit to people managing the risk responsibly.

After a year’s unprecedented freezing up of most of the machinery of public justice, Bexar County might see in-person jury trials again as early as June, thanks to local vaccination numbers rising and infections subsiding.
It will still be “a very slow ramp-up,” to ensure the health and safety of courtroom participants and visitors entering the judicial complex, said state District Judge Ron Rangel, the administrative judge for the county’s civil and felony courts.

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District reported 208,172 total COVID-19 cases and 3,212 total deaths in Bexar County, an increase of 223 new cases as of Tuesday. Two new deaths were reported today.
