Sacramento, CA – Governor Gavin Newsom says Secretary Health and Human Services Agency Dr. Mark Ghaly will review information gathered today and an announcement will be made tomorrow based on four-week data projections.
Based on preliminary four-week projections, the Greater Sacramento area may have the stay-at-home order lifted on January 1 and the Bay Area could be lifted on January 8. Newsom noted it is likely that the Regional Stay at Home Order will be extended for the other regions in California.
The current stay-at-home restrictions, in place for the past three weeks, require each of the five regions to have ICU capacity projections to be above or equal to 15%. The Stay at Home order impacts operations for businesses such as restaurants, fitness centers, wineries and beauty salons, along with churches and worship centers. Sonora, CA – Tuolumne County Public Health reports 19 new community COVID-19 cases and no additional inmate cases at the Sierra Conservation Center. The new cases are all asked to isolate at home, there are five hospitalized COVID-19 positive patients. A total of 18 individuals were released from isolation today.
Today’s community cases include 1 female under 20, 1 male and 4 females in their 20s, 1 male in his 30s, 1 male and 2 females in their 40s, 1 male and 2 females in their 50s, 1 male and 2 female in their 60s, 1 female in their 70’s, and 2 females in their 80s.
Tuolumne County has a total of 2,684 cases, 1,665 of those are recovered community cases and 1,028 are inmate cases. There are 113 active community cases. BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â State health officials are predicting a bigger surge in COVID-19 cases across the country in the weeks following the New Year.
The county dashboard registered one of the highest numbers of deaths in a 24-hour cycle, reporting 16x new deaths attributed to the coronavirus. That brings the total number to 502 in Kern County.
That combined with another 1,700 plus new positive tests. The total since the pandemic began now climbs to 66,526.
The number of people who have officially recovered has now topped 20,000. Another 13,000 plus are believed to have recovered with more than 32,000 isolating at home.

As Stanislaus County health care workers await a potential Christmas surge of COVID cases in the coming weeks, there was a small amount of light on Christmas Day, according to the latest data released Friday.
Hospitalizations in the county were down and the coronavirus positivity rate was the lowest in 11 days.
There were 324 patients with confirmed COVID patients in hospitals on Thursday, the lowest number in five days. Meanwhile, there were seven available staffed adult intensive care unit beds, the third straight day at least six were available, the county reported.
