San Francisco police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a murder suspect they have linked to two deadly shootings that occurred just hours apart Saturday in the Potrero Hill neighborhood.
Officials said they have three warrants two for murder and one for attempted murder for 32-year-old San Francisco resident Robert Newt, who they described as “armed and extremely dangerous.”
Investigators said he is known to frequent the Bayview-Hunters Point area and they warned the public not to approach Newt if he is spotted, but to note his location, clothing and vehicle description and immediately call 911.

More than 700 custodians represented by Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 87 walked off their jobs in March amid extended contract negotiations, calling for wage increases, increased safety and labor protections amid a pandemic, and employment opportunities for laid off custodians. SAN FRANCISCO On Friday, May 14 the State Parole board declined the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office plea to revoke the parole of a man who was convicted for a 2000 murder case. The man in the case was originally sentenced to serve 16 years to life in prison after being found guilty of second-degree murder charges.
Tare Beltranchuc, killed Claire Joyce Tempongko in front of her 5 and 10 year-old children back in October of 2000. For six years, Belthranchu evaded arrest and prosecution until he was located in Mexico in June 2006, he was then extradited back to the U.S., where he was prosecuted and sentenced on December 12, 2008.
