The French Laundry did not respond to ABC7’s requests for comment.
The establishment is one of at least seven Bay Area restaurants with two or three Michelin stars that also received PPP loans, the news station reported.
“Out of all the approved loans in California, 91 percent of larger restaurants with 300 or more employees got their loan approved in April versus only 52 percent of smaller restaurants with 100 or fewer employees,” the station reported reported.
The French Laundry made headlines last month after Mr. Newsom was photographed breaking his own coronavirus orders by not wearing a mask and not socially distancing among several people outside his household during a birthday party that included California Medical Association officials.

The French Laundry reportedly received more than $2.4 million through the Paycheck Protection Program while smaller, less-renowned restaurants struggled to get approval at all from the federal program designed to help small businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, an ABC7 News analysis showed.
Eater reported in July that the French Laundry received between $2 million and $5 million in PPP money based on a list made public by the Small Business Administration. The list, however, did not give exact loan amounts.

In 1864, the Lincoln administration oversaw the deportation of the Navajo tribe from their land in Arizona to march a brutal 450 mile journey to New Mexico
Lincoln was also behind the largest mass hanging in US history, where 38 Dakota men were condemned to death in Minnesota in 1862
But Lincoln also abolished slavery in 1863 with the Emancipation Proclamation

Santa Clara Co. officials shorten quarantine length from 14 days to 10 days
Santa Clara County released new COVID-19 quarantine guidance on Monday, which shortens the length of quarantine from 14 to 10 days. The new guidance applies to both close contacts of COVID-19 cases and those subject to the county s mandatory travel quarantine. We constantly want to take into account all the best science we have, said Dr. Sarah Rudman, assistant health officer and director of case investigation and contact tracing. We feel the science that the CDC shared with us over the last several weeks confirmed by the California Department of Public Health s review tells us there is a minimum loss of safety by making the change from 14 to 10 days. Essentially, the new guidelines are about finding the balance between the benefit of quarantining and the benefit of getting people back to school or work, Rudman said.
