NIPTON, Calif. In the award-winning television show Schitt’s Creek, the owners of the tiny town of the same name try to sell it, with no luck. Roxanne Lang feels like she’s been living that story line on repeat.
A 66-year-old Victorville man was killed after a vehicle struck him Monday night, officials said.
Emergency personnel responded at about 11 p.m. to the area of Seventh and Victor streets. First responders found Gerald Eli Coillot lying in the road suffering from major injuries and he died at the scene, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.
According to sheriff’s officials, Coillot had been standing in the road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Seventh Street.
The driver reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation as of Tuesday, officials said.
