Apple Valley man arrested after threatening to kill AutoZone employees Victorville Daily Press Authorities arrested a 27-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed a jug of motor oil and threatened to kill three employees at an AutoZone in Apple Valley. Broderic Michael Capps, of Apple Valley, was being held at the High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $51,000 bail and is expected to appear in a Victorville courtroom Thursday if charged by prosecutors. San Bernardino County Sheriff s Department deputies arrested Capps two days after receiving a report of a person threatening employees at the business, located at 20158 Highway 18, on May 2 just before 1:30 p.m.

Man killed in single-vehicle crash in Oro Grande early Sunday Victorville Daily Press A man died early Sunday in a one-vehicle crash in Oro Grande, the San Bernardino County Sheriff s Department said. According to the department, emergency personnel received a 911 call about an accident on National Trails Highway near Robinson Ranch Road shortly after 3 a.m. When they arrived on the scene, officers found the driver of the vehicle was dead. Officials said that he was approximately 35 years old, but that they were withholding information about his identity pending notification of next of kin. The department did not provide the make or model of the vehicle to say what might have caused the crash. 

Two-vehicle crash near Apple Valley kills four Saturday night

Palm Springs Desert Sun Four people died in a two-vehicle collision east of Apple Valley on Saturday night, the San Bernardino County Coroner s Office said.  According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff s Department, emergency personnel arrived at Highway 18 near Sierra Pelona Drive at 8:30 p.m. Three occupants of a Chevrolet Suburban and one occupant of a Toyota pickup were pronounced dead on the scene.  The site of the crash is about 1.6 miles east of where Bear Valley Road meets Highway 18. The identities of the victims were not immediately released and it was unclear Sunday what might have caused the crash.

Wonder Valley Delegate Steve Reyes will present on this issue and MAC members will discuss Resolution No. MB-MAC021 that offers support for Supervisor Dawn Rowe and the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department. The resolution requests more funding and additional code enforcement personnel to tackle the issue. The evening also will feature public safety reports from local fire and law enforcement, a Chairman’s Report as well as individual reports from each of the nine non-incorporated regions: Copper Mountain Mesa, Desert Heights, Flamingo Heights, Joshua Tree, Landers, Morongo Valley, Pioneertown, Wonder Valley, and Yucca Me
